Philosophy of Teaching

Each student is individually assessed and will be given exercises to work according his or her specific vocal needs.

Generally, when you speak in a comfortable manner, your outer muscles do not interfere. You can learn to maintain a tone and sing it with the same ease of producing sound when speaking, no matter of the register used.

HEALTHY SINGING is a matter of awakening our natural resonance, whether it is head, chest or body. Therefore it is most important to receive individually adapted vocal exercises based on an affirmed technique and method.

When you know how to use your voice correctly, you will be able to create powerful and yet healthy and balanced sounds, no matter the style of music you do!

Quality of teaching

Studio di belcanto welcomes interested persons of all age and levels to join and to discover the passion for the art of voice. Learning how voice really works can make singing easier and much more fun – for amateurs and professionals alike!

To achieve this goal, the studio di belcanto has identified the following values:

  • Relay on a solid voice technique to empower vocal talents
  • Attract young performing talents by providing an educational environment that fosters the artistic, intellectual and personal growth of students
  • Ensure a professional coaching along their vocal development. And for those having professional ambitions, to prepare them to embark on a professional artistic career
  • Studio di belcanto constantly evaluates educational and artistic standards, remaining responsive and open to the performing arts community

Why music education in general is important *

  • Music is a universal language, cutting across racial, cultural, social, educational and economic barriers - enhancing cultural appreciation and awareness
  • Music leads to developing higher order thinking skills including analysis, synthesis, evaluation and problem solving
  • Music improves academic achievement: enhancing test scores, attitudes, social skills, critical and creative thinking
  • Music provides opportunities for self-expression, bringing the inner world into the outer world of concrete reality
  • Music makes it possible to use personal strengths in meaningful ways and to bridge into understanding of sometimes difficult abstractions through these strengths
  • Music integrates mind, body and spirit
  • Music leads to both independence and collaboration
  • Music provides immediate feedback and opportunities for reflection
  • Music merges the learning of process and content
  • Musical symbols are as important as letters and numbers
